Removal of one or both adrenal glands can be done laparoscopically. This can be done via transperitoneal or retroperitoneal approach.
Other hormone producing tumours like aldosteronomas, cortisol-producing adrenal tumors etc
Nonfunctional tumors more than 6cm
Tumors showing sudden rapid growth
Very large tumour
Patient unfit for General Anaesthesia
Hemorrhage : Can cause severe blood loss if from Inferior ven cava. May require conversion to open procedure.
Injuries to kidneys, bowel, colon, liver, diaphragm, spleen etc
Severe BP fluctuations in patients with pheochromocytomas
Post operative Adrenal insufficiency.
